THERE were dire warnings about the dangers of buying into new projects in areas of high-supply in a cooling market late last year, yet apartment developers are optimistic going into 2018.

And buyers of $2 million “forever homes” — such as Waterloo couple Michelle and Nikos Stalimeros — aren’t concerned about any market issues, either.

Thousands of apartments are on the way in Sydney’s inner south around Green Square, Waterloo and Alexandria, with agents facing challenging times due to tighter lending controls for investors.
