AFL comeback king Sam Docherty and wife Natalie have snagged a luxe Edwardian home just weeks after his triumphant return to the field.
Carlton’s comeback king Sam Docherty has splashed out on a stunning double-storey home in one of Melbourne’s leafiest enclaves.
The four-bedroom two-bathroom Edwardian, purchased with wife Natalie, set the couple back a cool $2.86m at auction in late March.
Hallmarked by open-plan living zones, the property – situated south of the city – is perfect for entertaining with a separate indoor dining room and a walled outdoor courtyard.

Two double bedrooms and a renovated bathroom complete the functional ground floor layout.
Upstairs, the couple can enjoy an expansive main bedroom complete with a generous walk-in robe and graceful north-facing leadlight window seat.
The home’s fourth bedroom features a study area in addition to ample in-wall storage space.
The couple, who wed in 2020, first announced the news on Instagram, telling Docherty’s 39,000 followers they “did a thing” with the purchase.

A host of period features, including ceiling roses and fireplaces, are consistent around the house, which was built in 1910.
Docherty’s triumphant return to Carlton comes after he beat cancer twice in 18 months.
The 29-year-old was diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer in November 2020 and underwent surgery before returning to the field in 2021.
