Sitting in the lounge of her home in Sandringham, Auckland, Jacinda spoke candidly in an interview with Woman’s Day saying she’s looking forward to going back to work but will miss all the time she’s had with baby Neve. “It’s been the fastest six weeks of my life – it’s just flown by,” says Jacinda.
Jacinda admits she hasn’t left the house that much saying, “I think I probably went for a walk around the block a little sooner than I should have. I was ambitious and then hobbled back to the house.”
The house, that’s provided much-needed privacy over the past six weeks, is still relatively new to Jacinda and partner Clarke Gayford. The couple recently moved out of their Point Chevalier home as they needed more space for their growing family.
The 1920s bungalow is situated near Eden Park and, funnily enough, is not far from the Mount Eden home former Prime Minister Helen Clark resided in while in office.
Sitting on a 643m2, north-facing section, the house is perfect for a young family – with three double bedrooms, an open plan kitchen, a dining and family room and a master bedroom with ensuite. Its big back garden even has a tree house in a Pohutakawa tree – perfect for when Neve is old enough.
The real estate photos showcase big, floor-to-ceiling windows at the back of the house, which invite in lots of light and create a bright and airy feel.
In contrast, the living room – as seen in the interview above and the family photo below, is a cosy space filled with Jacinda and Clarke’s vintage-inspired style.
With a mixture of retro and modern pieces, the living room has an inviting and laid-back feel. The muted green walls feature floating wooden shelves, which warm up the palette and provide a unique home for Jacinda and Clarke’s collection of decor pieces.
