INTERNATIONAL: UK PROPERTY – House prices see the biggest fall in six years

THE average house price has fallen by almost £10,000 in the past two months, a report has found.

Property experts said it was the largest reduction in six years, suggesting it was a general trend rather than just seasonal forces. Across Britain, the typical price of a property coming to market dropped by 1.5 per cent month-on-month in December, according to property website Rightmove. The average asking price now stands at £297,527 – 3.2 per cent or £9,719 less than in October.
