A woman has been left broken-hearted and with a massive bill for a trashed house that she rented to a “trusted friend” in Invercargill.
Amelia Crawford, who has been living in the Hawkes Bay for the past few years, rented out her fully-furnished east Invercargill family home to a friend about three years ago.
“There was an agreement signed between us. It was an agreement that clearly outlined the rent was for three years, it was only for her and her youngest son and never to be sub-let.”
