Harcourts Team Group Auction Gala Results in Increased Property Sales

Harcourts Team Group in Wellington recently organized its first auction gala in five years, resulting in a significant increase in the number of properties called compared to a typical auction day.

Out of the 32 properties called, eight were sold under the hammer, four were placed under contract immediately after the auction, and an additional 10 properties are expected to be sold within the next two weeks.

The chief executive officer of Harcourts Team Group, Marty Ritchie, emphasized that many properties had been lingering on the market without selling, often due to minor price adjustments rather than issues with the houses themselves. Holding an auction helps demonstrate the sellers’ seriousness in selling their properties.

During the gala, a young couple successfully purchased their first home on Bristol Street in Trentham for $755,000, triumphing over other bidders. Ritchie mentioned that the couple had thoroughly researched and prepared for the auction, ensuring that they were well-prepared and within their budget.

The auction gala provided a festive atmosphere during the quieter winter period. Harcourts Team Group made the event even more special by presenting sellers with flowers and offering champagne to those whose properties were sold. Buyers were also rewarded with champagne for their successful purchases.
