Hollywood star Isla Fisher has withdrawn her Woollahra apartment from its scheduled auction this weekend and lowered its price guidance. Originally listed with hopes of fetching $1 million, the guidance has now been reduced to $900,000.

The apartment, located in an elevated rear position at the corner of Wallis and Ocean St, is Fisher’s only property in Sydney. She purchased it when she was 20, during her time playing Shannon Reed on the Channel 7 soap opera Home & Away.
The two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment, part of the late Art Deco block Wiltshire Towers, was purchased by Fisher in 1995 for $171,500. The marketing campaign highlights the apartment’s New York-inspired charm, boasting natural light and a prime location that blends park-side living with cosmopolitan flair. It’s situated close to popular spots like Woollahra Village and Bondi Junction.

At a recent open house, Fisher’s name was redacted from the contract, reflecting her current high-profile status. The last two-bedroom apartment in the block sold for $1.1 million earlier this year, while the median price for similar apartments in the area is $1,351,000, according to PropTrack.
Fisher, known for her roles in The Great Gatsby and Wedding Crashers, had been using the apartment as a rental investment. In February 2021, it was listed for rent at $400 a week, a significant drop from the $680 a week it had commanded in 2018 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the rental market. The apartment is now forecast to fetch a rental return of $820 per week.

Fisher’s decision to sell comes after her split from actor Sacha Baron Cohen, with whom she shares three children. The couple, who were married in 2010, had lived in a seven-bedroom home in the Hollywood Hills before moving to a more private property in Laurel Canyon. Fisher has previously shared her “secret fantasy” of relocating to Byron Bay.
