- A design to lift the Basin Reserve above the traffic has gained the backing of Wellington Mayoral candidate Jo Coughlan.
Coughlan has promised to bring a design that elevates the Basin Reserve up to eight metres above Adelaide road to the New Zealand Transport Agency if elected.
She hailed the two-storey Basin design as “one very creative view of how roads can be taken under,” and said it would be one of the options she would present to the agency.
