The construction of the $9 million (US$6 million) property had been halted in 2022 when the city of La Quinta requested further details regarding fire safety and pool codes.

The 42-year-old fashion designer had enlisted the expertise of renowned architect Tadao Ando, a recipient of the prestigious Pritzker Prize, to bring her vision to life on the expansive 3,900 sqm property. Kim Kardashian expressed her excitement about the project in an Instagram post, stating her deep honor and gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with Ando and witness the realization of this special venture.

Kim Kardashian had unveiled her dream home plans on Instagram in April, describing the design as “concrete, grey-toned, and truly Zen” during an interview with Vogue in 2022.

The property is situated in the exclusive Madison Club, a golf and tennis community in La Quinta, where Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, and sister, Kylie Jenner, also own properties.

According to previous reports, the original plans for the land, purchased by Kardashian and her ex-husband Kanye West, included a pool, spa, gallery space, two elevators, and a movie theater. Kim Kardashian’s net worth is estimated at $1.2 billion, and she recently secured a spot in Forbes’ “America’s Richest Self-Made Women” list.
