The four-level container house that appears to hang off the side of a rockface in Owhiro Bay, Wellington was sold under the hammer last night after the auction was brought forward.
Listing agent Jane Park of Harcourts says the landmark house in Happy Valley Road sold for $745,000, after a pre-auction offer on the house triggered the change of date.
“We had four bidders and they were all keen to buy it. Three buyers wanted it as a residential home and one wanted it as an investment.”
“There was good bidding above the pre-auction bid, and it was sold to the man who had put in that first offer. He is moving to Wellington from Hamilton, and will be living in the house himself.”
