Scammers have targeted landlords and tenants by pretending to be Tenancy Services.
Jennifer Sykes, manager Information and Education Housing and Tenancy Services at MBIE, said they received six complaints on July 19 about calls from an automated number claiming to be tenancy services.
The calls were automated and asked people to “Press 1 if you’re a landlord, Press 2 if you are a tenant”.
