A couple who are at odds with the developers of an upmarket Auckland housing complex after their home suffered water damage say the battle has soured relationships between owners.
Allan and Carol Pearson are seeking compensation after downpours caused water to seep into the basement of their apartment at Kensington Park, Orewa, north of Auckland.
Pearson and six other residents also affected have been left with a $40,000 bill after the company they bought their home from, Kensington Park Holdings Limited (KPHL), denied liability for the drainage problem.
