Leaky home

The leaky home for sale in the Waitakeres that has no Code Compliance Certificate has been sold – with the agent saying there was so much interest, he could have sold it “10 times over”.

Listing agent Iain Scott of Barfoot & Thompson says the house in Scenic Drive was sold to a couple for their daughter, who is currently living in a bus.

Although the property, which was built in the ’90s, has an RV of $915,000, it was listed at $649,000 and sold for $612,000. And Scott says the price was the sticking point. “Lots of buyers wanted to pay a lot less than that. Generally, we might have 100 to 120 potential buyers on the TradeMe watch list; this property had 900.”
