Residents of a Taupō gated community say they are being bullied out of opposing plans for a nearby tourist park by heavy-handed lawyers.

But the developers say residents should read the fineprint in their covenants, which prohibit any objection to future development and could even compel them to support it if asked.

Some residents of Grandview Estate in Acacia Bay, have been in opposition of plans to develop a the lodge on empty land at the end of the private road through their gated community but developers, Scenic Ventures Limited (SVL), says the proposal was always in the plans.
