  • Property investor Debbie van den Broek says new lending rules imposed on landlords have just cemented her decision to focus on buying properties outside Auckland.

Banks now must only lend to investors with a deposit, or equity in the deal, of at least 40 per cent. Previously they could lend up to 80 per cent of the purchase price of an investment property outside Auckland, and 70 per cent in Auckland.
