Property developer Dave Henderson has been awarded $5000 damages for a liquidator breaching his confidentiality rights.

Henderson, the former director of Property Ventures (PVL), that was put into liquidation in July, 2010, sued Robert Walker, PVL’s liquidator, under various legal claims in the High Court in Christchurch.

He claimed Walker, “fuelled by malice”, provided his personal information to Inland Revenue, the Official Assignee and other third parties including former All Black Grahame Thorne, who was once Henderson’s friend.

The February 2011 email shared with Thorne related to an email from Henderson to then Christchurch mayor Bob Parker. It referred to a proposal to develop 1500-2000 apartments on land in central Christchurch.
