Civil servants and office workers working from home and abandoning the city’s CBD have created a boon for Wairarapa real estate and shared work spaces.
There has been a flood of interest in South Wairarapa properties, with many attracting offers from Wellington people who realise working from home is now an option.
And more and more of those previously Wellington workers are showing interest in shared business space being offered in the region.
Chris Tock of Upper Hutt had been eyeing property “over the hill” for a while, but the public sector IT specialist said the pandemic response now made it the perfect choice.
As keen dog breeders, Tock and partner Amanda Lucas, needed a place with more room and found it in a 10ha block of land near Featherston that was set to go unconditional this week.
