A Chinese investor has boosted his stake in a luxury Christchurch apartment project as former mayor Sir Bob Parker and other local investors bow out.
Foundations are about to be dug for the $70 million-plus Cranmer Gardens development opposite Cranmer Square, first launched with Parker as frontman in 2017.
The apartments will be priced at up to $4.25m, with most for sale in the $1m to $2.2m bracket.
Launched when New Urban Group bought the site in 2015 and revealed its plans in 2017, the project was paused last year for a cost-saving redesign.
