After three years resolving title issues for a 57-lot Greytown subdivision, South Wairarapa council officially agrees to its sale.
The new council was scrambling to sign-off on a land deal that was effectively done in 2016 to avoid being in the gun for “millions in damages”.
The man behind the development, James Thyne of Hillview Property Investments, said passing this final hurdle was a “huge milestone” in the project which could start construction early in the New Year.
Twenty-nine of Tararua Junction’s 57 lots had already been pre-sold and he expected sales to accelerate now that there was certainty.
