A Melbourne man has worked at a relentless pace to transform a home a year since he was 18 and now lives in a house worth almost $1 million.
Adem Assad has flipped a property a year since he was 18, knocking out 12 renovations by the time he was 30 and now living mortgage free in his almost $1 million thirteenth home.
Mr Assad, now 31, said his relentless pace was born of a minor OCD that drove him to do things “then and there”, and growing up in a three-bedroom home in a family of seven.
While he got his start updating a $324,000 property alongside his parents, it wasn’t a free ride.
“I had three jobs at age 18 – I was working as a store manager at Subway, waiting tables and working at McDonald’s,” Mr Assad said.
He also cleaned cars around his neighbourhood as a “side hustle” and trained as a real estate agent after finishing high school but “being just the middle man wasn’t enough”.
The first home he worked on they “ripped out the carpets and retiled the kitchen”.
