Melbourne market slowdown hits vendors, spreads to government

When Jacki McAvenna auctioned her renovated Deer Park investment property last year, it didn’t get one bid.

She had been confident of strong demand for the home she had refurbished with husband Brent Silva and two friends, buying in March 2018 and taking it to auction in July.
