Argosy Property has claimed $39.6 million of costs so far for Kaikoura earthquake repairs of its building at 7 Waterloo Quay in Wellington and $14.2m for loss of rent for two years.

The company made the announcement as it released a solid profit of $133.7m for the year to March 31, 2019.

The claims were for costs incurred and related primarily to limited reinstatement work to make damaged floors available for reoccupation at Waterloo Quay and were not able to be agreed with insurers in advance.

Further claims would be made as costs were incurred, Argosy said.
