Graeme Hart tops the NBR List again as New Zealand’s wealthiest person.
The National Business Review (NBR) estimates Hart’s net worth at $11 billion, up from an estimated $10 billion in 2019.
Released on Monday, The NBR List reveals the top 10 Kiwi wealth creators for 2021. Following COVID-19, the former ‘NBR Rich List’ has been revamped, ranking Kiwis on more than just how many dollars they have to their name. The NBR List for 2021 focuses on those who have created wealth and jobs, or whose philanthropic efforts have improved the wellbeing of others.
Following are The NBR List’s top 10 wealth creators for 2021, including the industry they’re in and estimated net worth.
- Graeme Hart (Rank Group – packaging, wood products and building supplies industries): $11 billion.
- Todd family (Todd Corporation – energy, Todd Digital): $4.30 billion.
- Mowbray family (Zuru Group – toys and consumer products): $2.50 billion.
- Goodman family (Goodman Group – property): $3.10 billion.
- Sir Michael Friedlander (Samson Corporation, Sterling Nominees – property): $2 billion.
- Rod Drury (Xero founder – tech and services): $1.95 billion.
- Talley family (Talley’s Group – agribusiness/food processing): $1.20 billion.
- Sir Robert Jones (property investment):$1.10 billion.
- Bruce Plested (Mainfreight – transport): $1.02 billion.
- Jim and Rosemari Delegat (Delegat Group wines): $1.01 billion.
