The price home owners in the Nelson region are prepared to sell their properties for rose by the biggest margin across New Zealand last month, as asking prices continued to surge nationwide, real estate data showed.
The average asking price in Nelson and Tasman district region rose 8.8 per cent to $763,094 in December, nearly double the second biggest monthly rise, in Coromandel, according to the statistics from realestate.co.nz.
The national average asking price was $703,780 – the first time the figure exceeded $700,000 since the property listings website’s records began 13 years ago.
