A new turning point has been achieved as a considerable proportion of New Zealanders are choosing to move abroad in great numbers.
In the year ending in March, there was a net migration loss of 52,500 New Zealand residents, according to the most recent figure released by Stats NZ on Tuesday. 25,800 arrivals and 78,200 exits make up this total. To put it in context, three New Zealanders were departing the nation for every one arriving. Notably, 39 percent of this departure consisted of people between the ages of 18 and 30, a pattern that is frequently seen since younger demographics tend to drive net migration losses.
These conclusions are predicated on preliminary data. By contrast, the greatest annual net migratory loss of citizens of New Zealand was recorded previous to the present upsurge.
