Netflix’s “Buying Beverly Hills” Cancelled After Two Seasons

Netflix’s reality show “Buying Beverly Hills” has been cancelled after just two seasons. The series, which followed Mauricio Umansky, the estranged husband of “Real Housewives” star Kyle Richards, focused on his high-end real estate agency, drawing comparisons to “Selling Sunset.”

Mauricio starred alongside his daughters Farrah and Alexia, with the second season premiering in March. Despite the show’s potential, Deadline reported that the cancellation stemmed from a disparity between viewing numbers and production costs.

Fans quickly expressed their surprise and disappointment on social media. One commented, “I’m surprised ‘Buying Beverly Hills’ was cancelled,” while another lamented, “What? Netflix cancelled ‘Buying Beverly Hills’?” A third fan expressed their frustration, saying, “Omg, this makes me so upset that @netflix didn’t want to pick up Season 3 of ‘Buying Beverly Hills.’ I love this family so much. They are so good at what they do, I love this show & was invested in learning about the business of housing.”

The show also delved into personal aspects of Mauricio’s life, documenting the ups and downs of his marriage to Kyle Richards, culminating in their eventual split. In a candid moment from the second season’s premiere, Mauricio explained to his daughters that despite his efforts to save their marriage, Kyle needed space and allowed him to date other people, provided they did not discuss it.

The series, which debuted in late 2022, produced a total of 18 episodes. It also explored the involvement of their daughter Sophia in the family business, adding another layer of family dynamics to the narrative.

Despite its short run, “Buying Beverly Hills” managed to capture the interest of fans with its blend of high-stakes real estate and personal drama, leaving many disappointed by its premature end.
