A once leading Sydney real estate agent has been hit with new charges related to an alleged attack using a samurai sword.
New charges have been laid against a former high-flying Sydney real estate agent accused of attacking a woman with a samurai sword in his inner-west home.
Karl Howard was arrested in February after allegedly assaulting two women, aged 27 and 29, following a night drinking and having consumed a cocktail of substances.
The 44-year-old is accused of punching one woman before striking her friend with a samurai sword when she tried to intervene at the Annandale property between 4.40am and 5.20am on February 8.
Police charged him with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, wounding with intent to murder and trespassing after he allegedly fled his Ferris St home to a nearby property.
Mr Howard did not appear before Central Local Court on Tuesday when his matter was adjourned for a case conference to take place between his lawyers and prosecutors.
Documents tendered to the court reveal two fresh charges have recently been laid against the former principal of Ray White Balmain.
Both are related to the alleged attack on one of the women, whom Mr Howard is accused of attempting to murder, according to the court documents.
They are lesser charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and recklessly causing grievous bodily harm.

There are also two interim apprehended violence orders in place between Mr Howard and the alleged victims.
