Work on the new M4 tunnels from Homebush to Haberfield is almost complete with the project set to open in around four months.

The project is expected to taking around 10,000 trucks off Parramatta Road every day.

Premier Gladys Berejikilian and Minister for Roads Andrew Constance toured the nearly-completed M4 tunnels today, part of a seven kilometre section of WestConnex.

Berejikilian said the new M4 tunnels, themselves 5.5km long, would allow drivers from Western Sydney to bypass a significant section of stop-start traffic on Parramatta Road, and instead connect directly onto the City West Link.
