Yelsa is a gamechanger for the real estate market – for buyers, vendors, and real estate agents.

Yelsa is not a real estate company – it’s an app, and it’s been developed right here in New Zealand. Founder Mike Harvey believes Yelsa has the power to transform the real estate industry worldwide, much in the way dating apps have transformed the way people meet new partners or the way people find holiday accommodation.

Technology makes it possible for us to do things better and more efficiently, says Harvey. Now, at a time when the whole world is changing due to Covid-19, Yelsa makes more sense than ever.

Like all revolutionary ideas, the thinking behind Yelsa is simple: it matches up vendors with buyers and empowers them to buy and sell real estate and save money along the way.

By cutting out the middleman, vendors can save tens of thousands of dollars in real estate fees, but real estate agents and lawyers still have a role, too

Harvey, who has established himself as one of Nelson’s leading real estate agents over a 20-year period, says the idea came to him after his infant daughter, Elsa, was critically ill in Christchurch Hospital. (She is now fully recovered and back in Mapua, near Nelson).
