Plans to build a new six-storey hotel, restaurant and retail building in central Christchurch’s Colombo St have been approved.

The Kam Bik family trust, headed by Victor and Sharon Cheng of Christchurch, has received resource consent from the city council to put up the building between Cashel and Hereford sts.

The 400sq m double site sits between the pedestrian entrance to the BNZ Centre and new KFC restaurant now under construction, and is opposite the ANZ Centre.
