NEW ZEALAND: Australians eye up property in Central Otago-Lakes region

The lure of snowy mountains and short flights are making Queenstown an attractive housing market for our neighbours from across the ditch.

Manly-based Doug Howe is one of thousands of Australians eyeing up property in the South Island’s luxury resort town.

Howe and his wife, Lou, purchased a Queenstown property in May with Sydney friend Katy Duncan and her husband.

“I live in an endless summer in Manly. When I need to get a snow fix, I look to New Zealand and Queenstown. Now I have the best of both worlds only 3.5 hours apart,” Howe said.
