Economists see 7.1% rise in 4Q, less than RBNZ’s 7.5% forecast

Traders now pricing in better chance of 50bps hike than 75bps
New Zealand’s inflation may have already peaked, raising the possibility of less aggressive interest-rate hikes in the first part of this year.
Consumer prices probably climbed 7.1% in the fourth quarter from a year earlier, economists predicted ahead of Wednesday’s report. That would be a bit slower than the prior reading of 7.2%.
