Otago Scarfies wanting to rent the “most notorious flat on campus” have been asked to submit their “best offer” as part of a controversial tender.
The rental process for the flat known as ‘Debacle’, which features a booze and bong-loving cartoon character on the front door, was slammed by Housing and Urban Development Minister Phil Twyford.
“It is disappointing that Cutlers Property Management treat the renting out of properties to students as a game,” he said of the way the company had marketed the nine-bedroom flat in the heart of Dunedin’s student quarter.
