One Agency

Trans-Tasman network, One Agency, continued its stellar 2016-17 growth trend in the first quarter of 2018, adding close to twenty new  licensed operations under fourteen owners, noting a major trend shift as markets slow in both countries which saw the majority of newcomers being sizeable offices.

“While our origins were built around highly professional individuals working from private offices and ongoing they remain over 40% of new membership, over the past three years we’ve seen an increasing number of former major brand franchisees and leading independent offices realising the fiscal, practical and management benefits of the One Agency model,” commented Head of Australasian Membership, John Stewart.

“Everyone has their fundamental reason for joining, but it’s fair to say retained income, freedom to make decisions targeted at taking their business where they want to and all the while enjoy the brand strength and network support of  a truly international brand are prime drivers.” he added.

Western Australia featured with two strong new offices adding to a similar number of newcomers who joined in late 2017, plus several existing members expanded into new markets. “We’re in serious discussion with half a dozen others throughout the state so a target of thirty new business units by the end of the year is not an unreasonable expectation.” Stewart commented.

Victoria has been a seat of growth for One Agency over the past two years and this has continued in 2018, with offices opening in the CBD, Caroline Springs and Edithvale, with four further in final planning. Again, exiting members invested in additional markets.

Sydney saw four new offices added to the network, two in the inner west, two in outer western suburbs, one reflecting one of the brands newly-launched One Agency Commercial sister brand businesses. “The specialist marketplaces of Commercial, Rural and Projects have welcomed our three new units and we expect their impact in the marketplace to be considerable in later 2018,” says CEO and Founder, Paul Davies.

“These specialists derive the same benefits as our mainstream members, they work alongside the existing network and all parties gain from the association,” he added.

Elsewhere in NSW, new businesses started in Newcastle, on the south western flanks of Lake Macquarie and in the Alstonville-Goonellabah area.

The New Zealand arm of the business added a leading investor-development specialist who works out of the Nelson area and drives developments from Invercargill to Christchurch, Nelson to Hamilton.

“We’re delighted to add that development-project strength to the NZ network, and that, coupled with a very well regarded team rolling out plans for the Waimakariri region north of Christchurch, merging rapidly growing urban with widespread Lifestyle markets,” Stewart said. “A major highlight for the brand was the February unveiling of a purpose-built modern premises by our new Parnell-Remuera member.”
