Controversial Millionaire Davie Fogarty Faces Backlash for ‘Out of Touch’ Tour of $4.35 Million Adelaide Mansion
Achieving Massive Wealth through Oodie Business
A young Australian entrepreneur, Davie Fogarty, has been under fire after sharing a video showcasing his extravagant new mansion in Adelaide. At just 28 years old, Fogarty has amassed a staggering net worth of $250 million by successfully selling the Oodie, an oversized wearable blanket that gained immense popularity during the lockdown.
Fogarty has garnered a substantial social media following by chronicling the challenges and triumphs of running a business, while also offering helpful tips and advice.
The Controversial Mansion Tour
In a recent post across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, Fogarty flaunted the $4.35 million Mylor farm he recently purchased in the Adelaide Hills. However, the video has sparked criticism for being out of touch with reality.
News.com.au has reached out to Mr. Fogarty for a comment on the situation.
In the video, Fogarty explains that he was initially searching for a house in Noosa but was captivated by the listing of the four-hectare Mylor farm. He shares, “I wasn’t planning to buy another house in Adelaide, but when I saw this, I instantly knew I had to see it. I didn’t even sell my own house; I just had to move into this one.”

After quickly acquiring the fully furnished four-bedroom, three-bathroom home through real estate agent Dee-Anne Hunt Williams Real Estate, the mastermind behind Oodie expressed plans to renovate. While he intends to join two bedrooms to create a master suite with a walk-in robe, his primary focus is constructing a chapel-like building that will serve as a personal gym.
Fogarty acknowledges the luxurious nature of the property but emphasizes his desire for peace and enjoyment, stating, “Although I’m proclaiming that I want to step away from the hedonic treadmill and stop chasing everything, this is something I truly wanted and needed in my life. I’m going to savor it and find a sense of tranquility as well.”
The multimillion-dollar oasis boasts additional features such as paddocks, a ceramic workshop, an outdoor bath, and enough space for two miniature goats. Fogarty reminisces about his childhood spent in the Hills, walking in nature and brainstorming ideas, and highlights the importance of nature for some individuals, particularly entrepreneurs.
Backlash and Sarcastic Remarks on Social Media
Despite the video’s short duration of just 1 minute and 8 seconds, it quickly drew backlash on TikTok, with sarcastic comments flooding the section. Many labeled the clip as “out of touch” considering the current cost of living crisis.
One woman sarcastically remarked, “If I lay on the floor and stand up really quickly in the same spot, I also have heated flooring.” Another comment read, “This dude is highly relatable and very in touch.”
The roasting continued, with one man sarcastically saying, “Yeah, dude, I’m always reading by the fireplace and doing meditation in my $4.3 million house. We should totally hang out sometime.” Others shared their own financial struggles, highlighting the stark contrast to Fogarty’s extravagant lifestyle.
However, amidst the criticism, there were still numerous individuals who congratulated Fogarty on his success. Some admired the beauty of the mansion, while others commended his accomplishments after facing several failed business ideas before finding success with the Oodie.
