- He promised to build them the homes of their dreams, but a Kiwi with no background in building has been accused of taking millions and fleeing the country leaving distraught families living in “empty shells”.
One of the families – a couple with a newborn baby – has been forced to live with relatives because they have been left with no electricity and plumbing, and the doors have been removed by unhappy contractors.
Another has been living out of their spare bedroom and sentimental belongings have been ruined after water started leaking from their ceilings and walls.
