- Investigations into the safety of building plans are underway after weaknesses were found in Masterton buildings designed by a Palmerston North firm.
The Palmerston North City Council will ask independent experts to review a sample of engineering plans for city buildings by Kevin O’Connor and Associates.
A Stuff investigation found 13 near-new buildings in Masterton designed by the firm had structural weaknesses, with five of them so far below building standards they could be deemed earthquake prone.
