- BREAKING into the property market is tough as a first-home buyer, let alone compounding it with Melbourne’s soaring property prices.
With suburbs such as Hawthorn and Abbotsford growing at about $1000 a day for the past year, according to CoreLogic, and the city’s median house price at $620,000, more than the stamp duty concession threshold for first-home buyers, affordable housing is increasingly rare.
