SUPPLIED This 56.16 square metre boat shed and jetty in Evans Bay, Wellington, has sold at auction for $350,000 to a water sports lover.
A middle-aged Wellingtonian fond of his watersports has bought a small historic boat shed for $350,000, believed to be a record price for one of the only 15 in Evans Bay.
The water sports lover bought the 56.16 square metre boat shed – and that includes the jetty – at auction where about 10 bidders lodged 37 bids. The price paid is more than $6000 a sqm.
People are not allowed to live in the boat sheds under Wellington Regional Council rules.
Bayleys Real Estate agent Ethan Hourigan said the boat shed was being sold as part of an estate. The beneficiaries were “very happy with the result”.
