PHOTO: SUPPLIED – Trade Me Property head Nigel Jeffries said Auckland’s growth “has finally died down”.

Average asking prices on property have bounced back to a record high but fallen a “small but significant” amount in Auckland, Trade Me’s latest property price index has found.

The average asking price across New Zealand in May hit last April’s record high of $645,900, an increase of.8 per cent compared to May last year.

But Auckland’s average asking price fell $350 on last year to $918,650.
