The family of Olympic gold medalist Ariarne Titmus is facing a whirlwind weekend, balancing Ariarne’s world-class competition in Paris with major real estate moves back home.

As Ariarne gears up to compete in Paris 2024, her family has put their Gold Coast apartment up for rent and their cherished Brisbane home up for sale.

Real Estate Moves Amid Olympic Fever

The Titmus family is renting out their Gold Coast retreat and selling their childhood home in Brisbane. Both properties reflect the family’s success and busy lifestyle.

Gold Coast Escape for Rent

Their Gold Coast apartment, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom retreat, offers direct beach views and is listed for rent at $950 per week. They purchased this property over two years ago to reduce Stephen Titmus’ commuting time between Brisbane and his job as a Channel 7 newsreader on the coast. Real estate agent David Sheekey of Main Beach Property Sales highlights its prime location: “Literally just across the road from the endless sandy beach and only a short stroll to trendy Tedder Ave with its boutique shops, restaurants, and cafes.”

Brisbane Family Home for Sale

Simultaneously, the family has put their custom-built Brisbane home in the prestigious Chelmer suburb on the market. Priced at over $2.35 million, the four-bedroom home includes a pool fit for an Olympic champion. The house will be open for inspection at 12:30 PM on Saturday, July 27, coinciding with the Olympic opening ceremony earlier that day.

Supporting Ariarne from Afar

Stephen and Robyn Titmus are in France, among other dedicated families supporting the Australian team. Ariarne’s mother, Robyn, described selling their Chelmer home amidst the Olympic buildup as “eating an elephant – one bite at a time.”

Ariarne’s Preparation and Australia’s Anticipation

Ariarne has settled into the Australian base in Chartres, near Paris, with the iconic Chartres Cathedral in the backdrop. As she prepares for the intense competition ahead, the support from back home remains strong. Surveys indicate that about a third of Australians are keenly anticipating the swimming events at this year’s games.

A Family of Champions

The Titmus family’s dedication and achievements extend beyond Ariarne’s swimming accolades. Ariarne already owns an apartment in Teneriffe, Queensland’s most expensive suburb, while her younger sister, Mia, prepares to make her arrangements once the family home is sold.

A Sanctuary Amidst the Chaos

Despite their hectic schedules, the Titmus family has created homes that serve as sanctuaries. Robyn Titmus reflects on the significance of their properties: “It’s a bit like coming home to a resort. You can completely switch off. Because we live such hectic lives, it’s really been a sanctuary to be able to come home to, relax in, and obviously raise a couple of girls at the same time.”

As the Titmus family navigates this busy period, their support for Ariarne remains unwavering, proving that behind every champion is a family equally committed to excellence and balance.
