A tenant whose property manager accidentally sent him an email calling him a “first-class w…er” says he should not have been forced out of his rental property when his relationship broke up.
Phillip Ireland rented a property in Waikanae in August, with his then-partner. The tenancy was guaranteed by her father.
The couple split in November.
Initially, Ireland and his partner thought he would move out and she would remain in the house but instead she shifted out.
Ireland said he was “forced” by the property manager, Property Scouts Greater Wellington, to sign a letter requesting the end of the $530-a-week tenancy.
