Residents living in one of Melbourne’s most disadvantaged neighbourhoods fear they have been left behind in the Victorian state government’s commitment to social and affordable housing. Banksia Gardens Estate, located in Broadmeadows, is a 30-minute drive from Melbourne‘s CBD. While the area known as the “Broady Bronx” has been associated with violence and vandalism, those who live there said that’s not the case.
