One of Gisborne’s top realtors has a new name after brokering its own sale.

Quay Real Estate in Gisborne — trading as LJ Hooker and Colliers Real Estate — has merged with Property Brokers.

“It’s great that a company with exceptional skills in real estate and a real focus on being a positive influence on the community has chosen to come to Gisborne,” Gisborne branch manager George Searle said.

Formed in Palmerston North in 1989, the Property Brokers team have grown to include about 600 staff members across more than 40 branches.

“With extensive networks both nationally and internationally, Property Brokers is well placed to take our existing business to the next level,” Mr Searle said.

Property Brokers managing director Tim Mordaunt said the Gisborne operation was seen as a good fit for the company.

“Our company has always admired and respected the Gisborne operation. They are a very effective, well-run business, with high market share and a great culture.
