Queensland richlister pays for son’s uni pad in cash

A QUEENSLAND richlister has paid more than $1 million in cash for an old weatherboard home with the aim of turning it into a luxury student pad.

The keen buyer — the owner of one of the country’s largest domestic appliance companies — snapped up the property at 2 Boomerang Rd, St Lucia, in just two days without even laying eyes on it.
