- The timing of a land purchase designed to future proof Wanaka Airport has surprised the town’s chamber of commerce.
The Queenstown Airport Corporation announced the “strategic” and “critical” purchase of 106 hectares of land next to the ratepayer-owned utility on Tuesday.
The Queenstown Lakes District Council is in the middle of an airport governance review.
