Queenstown’s council has spent almost $14 million on a luxury property, which may form part of its transport puzzle solution.

An item on the Queenstown Lakes District Council website says the council confirmed purchase of the 14 hectare Ladies Mile property in a public-excluded meeting in April.

The $13.78m purchase price would be financed through loan funding. It has a capital value of $6.41m.
