Real estate agents are having to compete harder for properties to sell, and it’s good news for vendors, property research firm QV says.
It has released its latest market data, which it said showed the value of houses was holding steady.
Provincial areas were still reporting relatively strong property price growth while main centres slowed.
In Auckland and Hamilton, where residential values have dropped over recent months, that rate of decline eased in the last quarter. Central Auckland values increased 0.1 per cent over the last three months while the region as a whole was down 0.5 per cent.
