A REAL estate agency in charge of multiple Mandurah properties has been fined $80,000 for breaking tenants’ trust by lodging security bonds late and recording the wrong dates.

Asset Realty Pty Ltd missed security bond lodgement dates eight separate times in 2017.

Department of Commerce prosecutor Jason Derby told Mandurah Magistrate’s Court last week that the first instance occurred on March 20, 2017, with a security bond for a Meadow Springs property.

The bond needed to be lodged by April 20 but was not filed until November 20.

However, the bond was recorded as submitted in early April.

On April 20 the company received a $1400 bond that was lodged on November 7, months after the May 4 deadline.
