- A real estate agent who called a private house seller a “stupid stupid woman” in a series of abusive text messages has escaped without penalty from an industry tribunal.
In May last year former Barfoot & Thompson Auckland real estate agent Allan Towers phoned Susan Blackledge to discuss a property she was privately selling, a Real Estate Agents Disciplinary Tribunal ruling from March said.
The ruling, which has just been made public, said Blackledge hung up on Towers.
He continued trying to contact her by phone and text message at which point Blackledge contacted Towers’ manager at Barfoot & Thompson Onehunga asking Towers not to call her again.
